CGR International expands to Thailand

We are pleased to announce the opening of our new factory in Thailand as part of CGR's strategic expansion into the South-East Asian market. This new facility marks a significant milestone in our commitment to serve the global automotive industry with expertise, quality and reliability. It will enable CGR to meet the growing demand from automotive suppliers in the region for short, localised supply chains. Thailand offers a particularly attractive environment for the industry, thanks in particular to the historic presence of Japanese car manufacturers and parts suppliers since the 1950s.

"Our new facility has 2100m² of available floor space and a controlled atmosphere production workshop. It will not only increase our production capacity, but also contribute to the local economy by creating employment opportunities for around 100 skilled workers. This expansion underlines our commitment to innovation, quality and growth in the automotive sector," said Arnaud Bodier, Managing Director of CGR Thailand and Head of Asia.

The first production line has already arrived in January 2024 to produce compression springs. Three more multi-slide production lines will be installed by the end of June 2024 to expand capacity for formed wire and flat springs. A cable cutting and assembly line for seat belts is in the planning stage. The new site is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. Customer audits and IATF 16949 certification are ongoing.
