A Technical Glossary on Springs Technology

We’re pleased to announce the release of CGR’s Spring Technology Glossary in three languages— a valuable new resource for engineers, designers and procurement specialists working with springs and related components.

Having a shared glossary means fewer misunderstandings, better alignment between design and manufacturing, and faster decision-making when specifying springs in industrial applications. It’s especially useful for cross-functional teams working across geographies, languages and industries. The glossary is part of CGR’s Springtelligence initiative, reflecting our commitment to sharing expertise and providing technical education.

Offering a clear, structured reference to key technical terms in spring manufacturing, the glossary covers everything from “active coils” and “buckling” to “solid height” and “shot peening”. It provides definitions that include calculation methods, tolerances and standards for mechanical spring engineering.
