Co-design and co-engineering

Creative solutions

The term co-engineering is derived from cooperation: working towards a common goal. CGR shares its knowledge about production processes and material science in the critical engineering stage of a new product. Our longstanding expertise is crucial in understanding the feasibility of the project, the ideal design, the most efficient manufacturing process and an estimate cost for serial production. The solutions developed by CGR in close cooperation with clients draw together all these aspects to enhance the competitive value of the final product.

Design, prototyping, and tooling

Full service

Our in-house engineering teams are trained in latest software tools for design (Solidworks and Catia) and numerical simulation (Abaqus). They have the means at hand for rapid prototyping by 3D-printing, water jet cutting and electrical discharge machining. Manufactured parts can be controlled on the spot for dimensional compliance by probing, scanning and 3D vision. We also assess structural parameters such as hardness, tear strength and fatigue resistance. Lastly, we make our own production tools and automated assembly lines, offering in-depth control over the entire production process.

Reducing time to market

Response to complex issues

Clients rely on our expertise and technical assistance from the early product conception stage through to industrialization and serial production. It means we can help clients shorten time to market, increase production yield, optimize cost and enhance quality. To solve the most complex issues we have created STRAIN, a joint research laboratory operated in partnership with the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) in Toulouse, France. Wherever you are located, our international teams are ready to share their knowledge and make your project a success.
