Details and dimensions

Wire diameter (d) ?d (wire diameter): This is the wire section used to make the spring.
Outside diameter (De) ?De (outside diameter): This can be calculated by increasing the inside diameter by twice the wire diameter. It should be smaller than the bore diameter.
Inside diameter (Di) ?Di (inside diameter): This can be calculated by decreasing the outside diameter by twice the wire diameter.
Number of active coils ?Active coils: This is the total number of coils minus the 2 end coils.
Total number of coils ?Number of coils : Total coils, this is the total number of turns of the wire from one end to the other.
Free length (H0) ?H0 (free length): This is the free length of the spring (without any constraint)
Solid height (Hj) ?Hj (Solid height): This is the height when the spring is compressed to its maximum.
Pitch (P) ?P (pitch): This is the average distance between 2 active coils.

Loaded height (H1) ?H1 (loaded height): This is the height obtained under load P1.
Working deflection (F1) ?F1 (loaded deflection): This is the difference in height obtained under load P1.
Load (P1) ?P1 (load at height 1): This is the load required to obtain the height H1.
Stiffness (K) ?K (stiffness): This is the spring strength during compression, in other words it is the force increase per millimetre of compression. It is measured in N/mm = 0.1DaN/mm.

Working deflection (F2) ?F2 (loaded deflection): This is the difference in height obtained under load P2.
